At Diamond Cut Refurbs, we offer vapour blasting to our clients. It’s a service we have used for many years on the alloy wheels we repair.
As well as alloy wheels, we’re now working with a number of companies and local enthusiasts to vapour blast, sometimes referred to as aqua blasting, other metal components.
It’s the process of bringing metal components, such as engine parts, motorbike parts etc back to a like-new finish.
We are confident that you will walk away from our service with components so clean, it will look like they are brand new.

What is Vapour Blasting?
Vapour blasting or vapour honing is an effective way to clean metal components that have built up dirt and general muck over the years and produce a high-quality like-new finish.
As the name suggests, vapour blasting produces this level of finish through a high-pressure flow of water and the use of an abrasive.
Not only does this give a great finish but it also cleans wheels and small components to an incredible standard.
Vapour blasting acts as a great method for removing coatings, contaminants, corrosion and more from hard surfaces.
Potential jobs for vapour blasting;
Engine components
These types of components generally build up a large amount of dirt and debris over years of use.
This process can help in the refurbishment and allow for a factory finish to make sure the refurbishment is perfect.
Motorcycle repair/restoration
There are many motorcycle enthusiasts out there restoring bikes back to their former glory.
A lot of the parts that are original to the bike can be refurbished and can save a good amount of hard cash in the process.
Classic car part restoration
As well as motorcycles, we vapour blast classic car parts in order to restore them back to their younger days.
After we're done, you can expect a high quality finish that brings your car parts back to life.
Engineering/small components
Got some engineering components that need restoring to their previous condition?
At Diamond Cut Refurbs, we can vapour blast engineering or small components to restore them or prep them to clean or for coating.

How does the process work?
To get a better understanding of how vapour blasting works, let’s compare it to standard abrasive blasting.
With non-vapour based blasting, the moment the abrasive impacts on a hard surface, the particles will break or shatter.
This results in fine particles moving into the air as dust. When you combine this with the particles already present on the surface area, you will find you produce a lot of unwanted dust.
Vapour blasting, however, works in a very different way.
When you have a water-based abrasive, it will impact the surface but instead of particles shattering, they are sequestered in water droplets.
Meaning that dust is prevented from spreading, due to the water weighing the particles down.
Vapour blasting also blasts away the surface coating, which leaves it ready for re-coating if that is required.
What are the advantages of Vapour Blasting?
As mentioned above, one of the main benefits of vapour blasting is that it is a dust-free process!
But the benefits don’t stop there.
Vapour blasting will simultaneously degrease and blast clean your components, giving you a finish like no other.
Because this method cleans by the flow of water, as opposed to impact, it promotes a longer media life also.
